LIFE (“Low Income Fare is Easy”) is a program that offers fare discounts to reduce the cost of transit for low-income riders. Members receive a choice of monthly benefits – a discounted pass on a participating transit system  or  20 free rides on any participating transit system.

Program Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and head of your household to apply. You must provide a photo ID for yourself and for each household member included on your application. If you currently receive a transportation discount from your employer, or you are participating in Metro's GoPass, U-Pass or Access programs, you are not eligible to participate in the LIFE program.

You can simply self-certify that you meet the LIFE Program income levels:

Household size = 1 * , Annual Income = $48,550 or less
Household size = 2 * , Annual Income = $55,450 or less
Household size = 3 * , Annual Income = $62,400 or less
Household size = 4 * , Annual Income = $69,350 or less
Household size = 5 * , Annual Income = $74,900 or less
Household size = 6 * , Annual Income = $80,450 or less

* The discount extends to every member of your household.
